A Sydney mother who caught her ex-flame with another woman was captured calmly standing next to his mangled body on disturbing CCTV footage after allegedly mowing him down, a court has been told.
Jackline Musa, 45, broke down and cried when she was denied bail in Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday a month after police allege she murdered Payman “Paul” Thagipur, 31, in the car park of his Wentworth Point apartment building.
The court was told Musa had not heard from Thagipur and went to his complex, smashed through a garage roller door and caught him with another woman in his unit before threatening her.

Fish-eye CCTV vision of the incident – so graphic a magistrate allowed a staffer to temporarily leave the room – was played to the court and showed Mr Thagipur following Musa out of the unit before she allegedly mowed him down with her SUV, throwing him several metres and pinning him against a wall.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Mark Phillips argued Musa’s seemingly calm demeanor after the alleged incident was what made such a strong murder case against her.
“I was driving out, he jumped in front of me ... I just hit him,” Sgt Phillips told the court Musa had said to police when they arrived on scene.
Magistrate Jacqueline Milledge said Musa failed to render assistance to Mr Thagipur even though she was an aged care worker and would be used to helping people.
“She walks toward where the victims is lying ... she doesn’t render any assistance to him despite the fact she’s an aged care worker, she is used to rendering assistance when it’s needed,” the magistrate said.
“It does appear on the face of it that it was an intentional act, it was done with speed and with force - it appears to be once he was struck she just continued until she could go no further because his body and car came into contact with the wall.
“She gets out of the car not in haste … yes, she does call triple-0 but she does not render assistance at all - perhaps she looked at him and thought there was no possible assistance she could give him.
“I have grave concerns that her disposition is such that she would be at risk of further offending in terms of if she was released.”
Defence lawyer Matthew Breeze and solicitor Fadi Abbas pushed for her to be granted bail, saying a trial was unlikely to begin until at least 2022 and she would be cut off from her family due to COVID measures.
But Magistrate Milledge denied bail and ruled Musa was highly likely to be sent to jail for a “significant term” after a trial because the CCTV footage was so strong.
Musa, who appeared with her hair cut and bandages on her forehead and right hand in Mary Wade Correctional Centre in Lidcombe, will return to court next month via audio visual link.
The court was told Musa was born in South Sudan but had migrated to Australia in 2004 and at the time of the alleged murder was living in Quakers Hill with her elderly mother and children aged in their 20s.
Samantha Mourish, who was a close friend of Mr Thagipur’s, previously told The Daily Telegraph he regularly used online dating apps and liked to see older women.
“He liked older women … he would just be like I like dating older women or seeing older women, I’d be like why? His thing was the lack of attachment,” Ms Mourish said.
“The Tango app … that’s the only one I used to see him on.
“He’s here alone in Australia and he has some really good male friends, but I think he was just looking for companionship at the same time.”
Friends said Mr Thagipur had moved to Sydney to save money but planned to return to his home country of Iran to marry.
