Toongabbie stabbing: Police search for killer after man found dead

Locals say the man fatally stabbed in Toongabbie overnight was always “carrying on”, and they heard fighting at his house in the hours prior to the incident.

Who’s who in the bikie underworld?

Neighbours of a man who was viciously stabbed near his house in Sydney’s north-west overnight say they heard a dispute erupt in the hours before the brutal murder.

The 49-year-old man stumbled from his home on Wentworth Avenue in Toongabbie to a neighbour’s doorstep suffering multiple stab wounds to his chest and back on Sunday at around 10:30pm and died at the scene.

One neighbour told The Daily Telegraph she heard commotion in the hours before the man stumbled to her doorstep with blood gushing from his wounds.

“I came to the door and saw a guy standing there. We had heard him shouting,” she said.

“It was really scary, it was just me and my two children.”

Another neighbour also said he heard commotion in the hours before the victim collapsed onto the quiet suburban street.

“He was having an argument with someone around 1pm on Sunday, it was really intense.

“He was screaming and swearing but that’s also not unusual, he’s always carrying on.”

Police detectives appealed for dashcam footage to help find the knife-wielding killer, whose identity remains unclear.

NSW Police Superintendent Julie Boon said police were still on the hunt for the perpetrator and called on anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

“Police are looking for anyone with information,” she said.

“Anyone with dashcam footage would be of assistance.”

Supt Insp Boon said police could not yet confirm whether the deceased was known to them.
