What was Traffic and Highway Patrol cop Senior Constable Alexander Cooney doing sending an email at 1am to the entire police force questioning NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller’s response to the COVID pandemic?

The email — which had the subject line Open Letter to the Commissioner: Tyranny of Government, or Best Interests of the People? — questioned the threat of COVID-19, the lockdowns and cautioned NSW Police against forcing its officers to vaccinate the public against the virus.

“Many members of the force are fed up with the approach to enforce oppressive rules placed upon the population in the name of COVID-19 and the looming mandatory vaccination,” the six-page open letter stated.

“We feel a real calling to do our part to stop the oppression.”

Constable Cooney argued that police officers should have a choice when it came to mandatory vaccinations and shouldn’t be used to enforce any vaccines in the community.

He also sought to: “raise the alarm that a global dictatorship is occurring and the police force is being used as a tool to push these global and corporate agenda upon the population.”

Wow.

SAM ON THE LINE

Now that Sam Ibrahim is in the frame to be deported, it’s as good a time as any to tell you about our favourite encounter with the older brother of Kings Cross identity John Ibrahim.

It was on a Tuesday circa 2015 and one of your columnists had written an unflattering story about the former Nomads bikie gang boss the previous Sunday.

Ibrahim called the front desk and managed to get put through. Much of what the seasoned gangster said next can’t be reprinted but he was certainly suggesting possible courses of action that would result in him getting charged with using a carriage service to menace, harass and/or offend.

Ibrahim’s tirade went on for a good three to four minutes. That was until he got it out of his system and ran out of puff.

After an awkward pause, Snitch did its best to keep the exchange moving: “So, how was your weekend?”

Ibrahim pepped up and he was off again: “Oh mate, so f..king busy …”

How far does the power of bikie gangs extend?

RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT

THERE is no disputing that presidents of bikie gangs can be powerful but one of their ranks seems to have misinterpreted how far that power extends.

A police listening device recently captured the following exchange.

The bikie told his friend: “We need to become president, bro. You know you can get anyone out of f..king jail.”

The friend replied: “Really?”

“You can save anyone from doing life. You can say ‘Bro, I want that guy out. You can pardon them’.”

He then added: “I’m running for president, man.” Who knew?
