Search underway after bones found at La Perouse beach

A crime scene has been established at a beach in Sydney’s south-east after a bone was found by a member of the public.

A crime scene has been established at Frenchmans Beach at La Perouse this morning after a bone was found by a member of the public.

Police, who have not yet determined whether the bones are human or animal, began searching the beach about 9.30am.

Police established the crime scene after a second bone was found, and have cordoned off a 10m stretch of beach with police tape.

Officers are continuing to comb the sand in the area for any more possible bones.
