Riverwood: Hunt for gunman after man shot in home

A man has been shot at a home in Sydney’s south west and police are on the hunt for a gunman.

A man has been shot at a home in Sydney’s south west and police are on the hunt for a gunman.

Police are investigating whether the shooting related to a drug deal.

It is understood the victim arrived at the house on Methuen Pde at Riverwood just after 6am and shortly afterwards was shot.

“We do have a police operation under way in Methuen Pde after a man was shot at a home about 6.20am this morning,” a police spokeswoman said.

“He has been treated and taken to hospital police are searching for a second man.”
The victim is in a stable condition in hospital.

Two police helicopters have circled above Riverwood and surrounding suburbs this morning as the manhunt continues. Tactical police are also scouring the neighbourhood.

Two other people who lived at the property are understood to be speaking to police.
