Police allegedly seized six knives from a 32-year-old driver at Lake Macquarie in the state‘s Hunter region on Thursday.

Officers searched the man’s car on Fishery Point Road at Mirrabooka just after midday, finding a 38cm tomahawk, a 10cm folding knife, a 7cm pocket knife, a 7cm multi-tool knife, a 7cm multi-tool tomahawk and box-cutter blades. The Morisset man was charged with custody of a knife in a public place and is due to appear at Toronto Local Court in October.

One officer was hospitalised after a teenager who allegedly jumped a barrier at Campsie train station became aggressive on Thursday night. The 19-year-old injured the policeman‘s arm while he was being restrained about 7.20pm, and the officer will need hand surgery.

“Our officers should be able to carry out their duties without being assaulted,” Acting Assistant Commissioner Tony Cooke said.

“(That) kind of behaviour is not tolerated by us or commuters.”

The teen was charged with resisting an officer in the execution of duty and entering a restricted area without a ticket. He is due to front Burwood Local Court on September 15.

Officers searched nearly 400 people in total during Operation Colossus, allegedly finding drugs 38 times and weapons 16 times.

Police patrolling Sydney‘s King Street Wharf precinct on Friday night were involved in an altercation with a 27-year-old man who they allege had just been caught buying coke.

Officers allegedly saw the Balgowlah Heights man get into a BMW on Lime Street around 6.45pm, which drove around the block before the man got out again.

When cops approached the man police claim he tried to run away, but after catching and searching him they allegedly seized cocaine.

The man is expected to face Downing Centre Local Court on September 9 over drug possession and resist an officer in the execution of duty charges.

Police also nabbed two young brothers who have allegedly been vandalising railway stations from Sydney to Maitland with graffiti between last December and June.

The pair was arrested at Wyong police station about 12.30pm on Thursday, and will front court next month on a string of charges.

The 20-year-old man is facing 21 offences, including malicious damage and trespassing.

The 18-year-old man was charged with 28 offences, including trespassing, malicious damage, and goods in custody suspected of being stolen.
