A drunk and drugged driver who ploughed into four innocent children in a horrific Oatlands crash that sent chills down the spine of every parent has pleaded guilty to four counts of manslaughter.
Samuel Davidson, 30, appeared in Parramatta Local Court via video link in his prison greens with a freshly shaved head and face on Wednesday.
He looked completely different to the shirtless, bearded man snapped by a photographer handcuffed on Bettington Road after he got behind a wheel drunk on February 1.
On Wednesday, Davidson entered pleas of guilty to four counts of manslaughter, two counts of causing grievous bodily harm by misconduct in charge of a motor vehicle and one of aggravated dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm while under the influence of drugs.
Davidson was travelling double the speed limit in a Mitsubishi four-wheel-drive at about 7.45pm, when he left the road, driving over the kerb and into a group of seven kids who were getting ice cream.
Siblings Antony, 13, Angelina, 12 and Sienna Abdallah, 9, and their cousin Veronique Sakr, 11 were killed.
The Abdallah children‘s cousin, 11-year-old Charbel Kassas, was critically injured.
Davidson was facing 34 charges in total, but dozens were withdrawn after he pleaded guilty to the above charges.
The court heard the facts were almost agreed upon between both parties, and they would be tendered at his next appearance on November 20.
