Mosman swim teacher Kyle Daniels jury discharged after first day of trial

The trial of Mosman swim teacher Kyle Daniels is expected to be restarted after the jury was discharged after one day of the five week trial.

The jury tasked with deciding the fate of Kyle Daniels, who is accused of child sex crimes, has been discharged.

The 22-year-old has pleaded not guilty to 26 charges including sexual intercourse with a child under 10-years-old stemming from allegations made by nine young girls he taught at Mosman Swim Centre.

All of the young girls were aged between five and 10-years-old and enrolled in classes taught by Daniels between early 2018 and early 2019.

The jury had been assembled this week ahead of a five-week trial but, after the first day, was discharged by NSW District Court Judge Kara Shead.

A new jury is expected to be empanelled and the trial restarted this week.
