Police will allege that during a phone call from the prison on Sunday the 42-year-old threatened to kill his 45-year-old sister Armani Stelio and her children.

Corrective Services passed the information to NSW detectives from the NSW Police Criminal Groups Squad who arrested Ibrahim at 1.30pm on Thursday.

He was taken to Goulburn Police Station where he was charged with using carriage service to menace, harass or offend. He was also served with a Provisional apprehended violence order.

“Police will allege in court that the man threatened to kill the woman and her children,” a police spokesperson said.

Ibrahim was ordered to appear in Goulburn Local Court on December 9.

Ms Stelio has kept a low profile since 2012 when she and older brother Sam were acquitted of charges relating to a kidnapping of a man in what police alleged was a $100,000 extortion plot.

Criminal Groups Squad Commander Detective Superintendent Robert Critchlow said criminal behaviour would not be accepted, even from someone already serving a lengthy jail sentence.

“Once again, we are having to remind these criminals that it doesn’t matter where you are, whether you are at home, on the street or in this case in jail, if you step out of line, we will be there to deliver the consequences.

It comes at a bad time for Ibrahim with sources revealing he was not told that his older brother Sam was set to be deported.

Sources said Michael Ibrahim was “irate” and “seen banging his cage up” in prison on being told his older brother had been flown to Western Australia in preparation to deport him.

It is understood that Michael thought his brother was to be moved to Villawood Detention Centre.
