The father of Scots College graduate Hugo Ball who was allegedly stabbed by his mother in their exclusive mansion has taken out a restraining order against his son.
The 22-year-old was living with his father in his $5.5 million Paddington terrace after he was discharged from hospital following the alleged November 21 attack.
Mr Ball has now been charged with destroying or damaging property following an alleged incident at his wealthy father Ian Ball’s home around 9.30am on Sunday.
An apprehended violence order has been applied for by police on behalf of his father. The order will prevent Mr Ball from approaching his father, except over the phone.
It will also ban Mr Ball from assaulting, harassing, threatening, stalking or intimidating his father.
The young man’s mother, Samantha Palmer, was last month arrested at her multi-million dollar Bellevue Hill mansion for allegedly stabbing her son in the base of his skull, back and shoulders.
Mr Ball was rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital following the alleged attack, before being discharged days later and moving in with his father in Paddington.
Ms Palmer could face a maximum penalty of 25 years in jail after being charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
She was just days ago released on bail before Christmas after more than three weeks behind bars.
In a November court hearing, her lawyer said Mr Ball had told his mother he had “committed murder,” and she was acting in self-defence.
Mr Ball is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on January 13.
