Perched proudly on the end of the second row of her AFL training school, Donna Preusker beams broadly for the camera.
The 17-year-old, who would go on to become Arabella Del Busso and the ex girlfriend of NRL star Josh Reynolds, has played a confidence game for years standing out among her contemporaries, even as an awkward teen AFL intern at Kurnai Precinct Campus in 2007, where was completing a Certificate 3 in Sport and Recreation.
“Traralgon was never big enough for her,” said a former Traralgon College friend who asked to be known only as Michael. “She wanted to be a sports masseuse and was fun and bubbly and game.
“She said her grandmother died when we were at school, that she had been left lots of money and was house hunting for a penthouse … we later found out her grandmother Dawn is still alive.
“She wanted to give the reputation she was loaded when she lived in a beaten weatherboard house down the road with her mum, stepfather and sister.”
She quit east Melbourne a year later to move in with a Traralgon boy who had transferred with work to Perth, before she reinvented herself as a glam mag model who would later catch the eye of Wests Tigers playmaker, Reynolds.
Adopting the fake name Del Busso, among seven others, she posed for Maxim Cover Girl online last year, telling the publication: “I’m very outgoing and friendly person.”
Preusker has a history of deception and false aliases and has accused former boyfriend Reynolds of assault.
He maintains he was the subject of a calculated plot by his ex who faked multiple pregnancies and even lied about suffering from cancer — claims she vehemently rejects. Reynolds’ defence also claims she digitally manipulated images to give the illusion she was pregnant.
Ms Preusker has been contacted for comment.
