Emu Plains stabbing: Two charged after death of rapper Mak Muon

Two men have faced court after being charged after rapper Mak Muon’s body was found at Emu Plains on Thursday. The men, aged 22 and 26, are accused of providing cops with false information about the death.

Two men accused of providing cops with false information about the death of an aspiring rapper in Sydney’s west this week could face 20 years behind bars if convicted.

Mak Muon’s dead body was found with stab wounds at a reserve in Emu Plains on Thursday morning.

Emu Plains resident Jayde Kaye, 26, and Hassle Grove man Gregory Ambler, 22, did not apply for bail when they appeared via video link at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.

Both men, allegedly known to Muon, were charged with hindering the murder investigation and concealing an indictable offence.

The maximum penalty for the second charge is 20 years in prison.

The 23-year-old man’s body was found about 50m from a car that had crashed in a ditch.

Mr Muon, a young aspiring rapper with links to the OneFour gang, had multiple stab wounds to his body.

On Friday, Detective Inspector Jason Pietruska said police believe the attack was targeted.

“We believe the victim was in the vehicle at various times in the lead up to the incident,” he said.

Both men are due to reappear in court on September 29.

It is understood Mr Moun he was known to police over drug offences and was on bail when he died.

NSW Police were initially exploring whether the attack was a road rage incident.

On Friday, Detective Inspector Jason Pietruszka said: “We believe that it was targ­eted,” adding the location was “not easy to find” and was both an industrial and residential area.

“There will have been some kind of altercation that led to that vehicle being where it was, and that is part of our investigations.”

A person “know to the ­deceased” called police, who are urging anyone who saw anything between 4am and 5am on Thursday morning to come forward.

One of Mr Muon’s closest friends, Natalie Sneddon, said the young rapper was meant to stay with her that night but tragically she missed his call.

The last message she ever received from him read: “I’ll be over soon okay nat x.”

She said he was gentle and caring and did not deserve what happened to him.

“Mak was gentle and caring and always cared about others,” she said.

“He always made me smile and was there for me through every heartbreak and every great memory.

“He was meant to stay at my house the night of the incident but I was asleep and missed the call.

“He was not a bad person and did not deserve what has happened.

“He was reaching his potential and his life was taken too soon.”

Ms Sneddon said she wants her friend’s killer caught and punished.

“I want justice for Mak and I want whoever did it in jail.”
