A man and woman have been charged after they led police on a high-speed 130km/h pursuit in a rental car through the Inner West on Tuesday night.
Police began following a Toyota Corolla on Parramatta Rd at Stanmore about 11pm due to concerns about the manner of driving.
They indicated for the driver to stop but allege the Corolla accelerated eastbound towards the city and a pursuit began, reaching speeds of 130km/h in a 60 zone.
Police followed the vehicle to City Rd before terminating the pursuit due to the manner of driving, but the car stopped in Abercrombie St in Chippendale after hitting the kerb.
A 22-year-old woman allegedly driving the Corolla and her 26-year-old male front-seat passenger were arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station.
Police will allege they found drugs on the woman during the arrest and the Corolla was discovered to be an unreturned rental car.
The Connells Point woman was charged with driving in a dangerous manner and speed, driving while disqualified, supplying drugs and breaching her bail.
She was refused bail to appear before Newtown Local Court today.
The Caringbah man was charged with redetermination of bail and is due to appear before Sydney District Court today.
