A woman has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after her scooter collided with a black Porsche as it turned into a residential street from a major road in Clovelly.
Ambulance paramedics and police detectives converged on Clovelly Rd just after 5pm on Sunday following reports a woman on a scooter had been hit by a car.
There were frantic scenes as onlookers circled around after a busy day at the beach nearby.
Four crews arrived to find a scooter driver in her 20s falling in and out of consciousness and complaining of abdominal and pelvic pain.
She was treated at the scene and fitted with a neck brace before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital. The middle aged male driver of the Porsche was assessed at the scene for shock.
A witness says the old-model Porsche was turning into Brook Street when it collided with the scooter.
He said the driver appeared “flustered” and in shock following the accident.
The man was not charged.
Crowds gathered around the scene as the woman was treated by paramedics, with locals watching the drama unfold from their balconies.
