Police have released fresh clues in the hope of solving the cold-blooded shooting murder of Omar Elomar, the distant relative of an IS fighter.

The 18-year-old was fatally shot in the chest while sitting in his P-Plated Lexus near Miller Park in Sydney’s west on February 15.

He succumbed to his injuries despite residents’ best efforts to revive him with CPR.

A Campbelltown man was charged with concealing the identity of the alleged killer and fronted court later that month but the matter was adjourned because police believe others were involved as part of a “joint criminal enterprise.”

Homicide Squad commander Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty at the time described the murder as “cold-blooded” and “targeted.”

“They’ve turned up at Miller on the night and Omar Elomar was shot down in cold blood — it was a cold-blooded killing,” he said.

“There wasn’t any altercation or fight on that night, they’ve turned up to talk to this other group and he’s been shot down in cold blood.”

Authorities have now released a fresh appeal for information in the hope of piecing together what happened that night.

NSW Police have released two clues they hope will help solve the murder - CCTV footage of two cars in the area in the minutes after the fatal shots were fired.

The CCTV shows a silver sedan speeding along Cabramatta Ave around the time of the shooting.

A red hatchback was also seen leaving the area minutes later.

Police hope the footage will prompt anyone with information or who recognises the vehicles to come forward.

Detective Superintendent Doherty said a group of four to five males of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance were seen in the area at the time acting suspiciously.

Police believe there may have been witnesses who could be crucial in solving the alleged murder, he said.

“While investigators have previously made one arrest, we believe there were more people present at the time Omar was shot – and others that have knowledge of those involved,” Det Supt Doherty said.

“It is our belief that the occupants of the vehicles depicted in the CCTV would have seen something that might assist our investigation.

Omar’s mother, Souad Elomar, is pleading for people to come forward and assist in delivering justice for her son.

“Omar was beautiful, loving, caring and the type of person who would put others needs before himself sacrificing his social time, his weekends to care for his brother with special needs,” Mrs Elomar said.

“He was ambitious, he had started a new job and was two weeks into his TAFE studies, ready to take on the world.

“Our family have never-ending days of grief knowing that he will never come home, so if you know anything do the right thing, come forward and help us find some peace,” Mrs Elomar said.

Elomar is a relative of Ibrahim Elomar, the uncle of fallen IS fighter Mohamed Elomar, who infamously posed for photos holding severed human heads after joining the organisation in 2013. Mohamed was killed in 2015 in a coalition air strike.

The alleged murder has not been linked with Elomar’s ties with Mohamed.

NSW Police will address the media later today.
