Bribbaree truck and train crash leaves two men dead

Two truck drivers have died after their B-double slammed into a freight train at a rail crossing in the state’s southwest.

A horrific crash between a freight train and B-double truck has left two truck drivers dead along the Stockinbingal-Parkes rail line in the state’s west.

The truck collided with the freight train as it was travelling through a rural rail crossing at Eurabba Lane, Bribbaree, approximately 70kms north west of Young, around 5.15pm on Tuesday.

The impact of the crash sent the truck and nearby grass up in flames. NSW Rural Fire Service crews attended the crash and extinguished the blaze.

Two men who were occupants of the truck died instantly. The men are yet to be formally identified.

The train line between Stockinbingal and Quandialla was closed until approximately 7am on Wednesday as emergency services cleaned up the wreckage.
