An alleged fugitive wanted on a warrant for stealing offences broke cover to chip police on Facebook for posting an unflattering mug shot, she claims was taken five years ago. She also had a few choice words for people commenting on her appearance.

An alleged fugitive took time out of her busy schedule on the run last week to pledge a case for using the app Facetune on mugshots.

Tiffany-Anne Brislane-Brown was in a spot of bother when she saw her unflattering photo on a NSW Police Facebook page under the headline “WANTED OFFENDER”

According to Newcastle Police, she was wanted on a warrant for stealing offences.

You see the photo wasn’t her best angle and 2015 wasn’t her best year.

“Loving the photo taken how many years ago,” she hit back at the haters on the post.

“Let’s calm down on the comments guys. It’s not everyday I look like trailer trash.”

The sharp-eyed 23-year-old kindly posted a more recent photograph of herself complete with filters ironing out any imperfections.

FAMILY AFFAIR

One of the most senior females in the police force, Chief Superintendent Donna Adney, is giving up her post at the Public Order and Riot Squad.

And while her husband, Strike Force Raptor mastermind Detective Chief Inspector Dave Adney, is stepping away from his role temporarily, bikies be warned – he’ll be back.

Supt Adney notified her team this week that she would be leaving the role and taking time off.

When she returns to the cops, she wrote, she will be pursuing a “new challenge”.

Supt Adney has carved a career out of operational policing with stints at the Dog Unit and working at the State Protection Branch, where she looked after Princess Diana.

Her critics say she has been at loggerheads with PORS troops lately over their deployments to bushfire grounds and working conditions.

Her other half of the power couple, Det Insp Adney, also notified staff last week that he was taking six months off from busting bikies but would be back in August.

The fearless but famously private police officer has been credited for shaking up the outlaw motorcycle gang environment in NSW to the point where tattoo shop drive-by shootings and airport brawls are all but a distant memory.

BOUNCE BACK

The last time we heard from Robert Richter QC was after his high profile client, Cardinal George Pell, was found guilty of historical child sex offences.

Regarded as one of the most brilliant legal minds in the country, he told the media he was too upset and emotional at the verdict to continue on with Pell’s appeal.

Rumour has it he has bounced back and has been briefed on a criminal trial in Sydney.

Sources tell Snitch that Mr Ritcher is tipped to represent Abdul Abu-Mahmoud, one of several people charged in connection with the murder of 15-year-old Brayden Dillon.

Abu-Mahmoud is charged with murder.

Contacted on Friday, Mr Ritcher’s office refused to comment or confirm or deny the rumour.

YOUNG GUNS

An audit of the Reiby Youth Justice Centre at Campbelltown has uncovered an aladdin’s cave of sharp instruments fit for a jail yard army.

And what better place to store them than inside the unsecured chaplain’s office or the jail chapel?

Staff recently found nine knives, ranging from your household butter knife to scissors, 58 razors, 29 deodorant cans and 260 toothbrushes, which can be easily turned into shivs.

And that was just inside the chaplain’s office.

Located in the chapel, albeit in locked cupboards staff often opened in front of inmates, was two pairs of scissors, plastic cutlery and 16 bottles of nail polish.

It is understood the haul was years of seized contraband from inmates but the fact they were stored in unsecured offices sparked the concern.
