The man, 57, was initially treated by critical and intensive care paramedics after being struck by the forklift, but despite efforts to revive him he died at the scene..
Police and paramedics were called to Military Rd in Matraville about 5.30am to reports a worker had been struck by the forklift in what is being described as a “workplace accident”.
NSW Ambulance deployed five vehicles to the scene including intensive and critical care paramedics, along with a doctor.
Police have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.
SafeWork NSW have been notified.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
