Woman killed in alleged hit-and-run on Macquarie Avenue, Penrith

A woman has died after police say she was struck by a ute, which did not stop at the scene, in Penrith.

A woman has died after being hit by a car in an alleged hit-and-run in Sydney’s west.

Emergency services raced to the scene on Macquarie Ave in Penrith about 5.30pm on Thursday, following reports a ute had struck a pedestrian before driving off.

Paramedics treated the woman, believed to be in her 40s, but she died at the scene. She is yet to be formally identified.

Police have established a crime scene, which will be forensically examined by the crash investigation unit.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
