A once high-flying banking executive allegedly called Triple-0 after stabbing his partner to death in their high-rise Mascot apartment block, bringing their 13 year long relationship to a bloody end.

Anthony “Tony” Eriksen, 61, allegedly murdered his partner Lisa Fenwick, 59, with a series of stab wounds to her chest inside unit 461 of the “Mascot Square” apartments on Church Ave between 5.23pm and 6.10pm on Easter Sunday.

Police sources told The Daily Telegraph it will be alleged Eriksen then called emergency services with NSW Police taking him into custody as paramedics unsuccessfully tried to revive his partner.

A tired looking Eriksen faced Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday dressed in prison-issued green shorts and t-shirt.

Eriksen said only the word “yes” on three separate occasions when asked a variety of questions by Magistrate Anthony Spence during the short hearing in which he made no application for bail.

The court heard that paramedics who were quickly on the scene reported Ms Fenwick, who was found on the 10th level of Block G, died of “multiple stab wounds to the chest”. Police arrested Eriksen and charged him with murder soon after.

Eriksen worked as a self-employed food educator after having careers as a fund manager at Eriksen Holdings and a senior procurement analyst at the NSW Department of Finance, Services and Innovation.

He also had years of experience working in senior roles at prominent banks during the early 2000s, including being a project manager at ANZ, an insurance consultant at AMP and an information technology financial analyst at Commonwealth Bank.

He also worked at the Department of Defence as a senior financial analyst in 2009.

Eriksen had completed degrees at Harvard University and Stanford University School of Medicine.

A 2017 report by The Daily Telegraph reveals, Eriksen lobbied Bayside Council to get timed parking on his street following complaints of drivers using the area for long-term parking for the nearby Sydney Airport.

He claimed victory and signs restricting parking to one hour between 6am and 6pm were installed along some northern and southern sections of Church Ave, after the council approved a recommendation to do so from its traffic committee.

‘SHE WAS REALLY SWEET’

The couple’s shattered former neighbour and friend Jeremy Maspero, who was involved in the successful campaign to introduce parking signs on their street in 2017, said he was shocked to hear of the death of Ms Fenwick, who he described as “really sweet”.

“(Lisa) was really sweet, very shy, but once you got to know her she was a lovely lady who was a lot of fun to spend time with,” Mr Maspero said.

“They would come over for dinner at our place, we would go over for dinner at their place.

“Tony basically didn’t work (anymore). We used to call Tony ‘the mayor’ because he would literally just spend all day walking up and down ‘The Avenue’, as we called it (Church Ave) talking to people on the street about issues.”

It is understood the couple had become heavily involved in local politics, including the City of Sydney Council elections, ever since returning from a stint living in Hong Kong.

Shocked neighbours told how they would always be seen out walking their pet schnauzers Prince and Jet.

It was an eerie scene outside the apartment block on Monday morning, with police and forensics removing the body of the victim just after 5am.

One woman, who did not want to be named, claimed she heard screams echoing from the apartment block.

“I heard screaming for minutes,” she said.

“It was a woman, I knew it.”

Jason Sugiharto has lived in the complex for five years and said the area is usually very quiet.

“Outside yesterday I saw that there was a couple of police (officers) and I just wanted to know what was happening back there because it’s really strange and unusual,” Mr Sugiharto said.

“That’s horrible actually, I never heard that news before.

Another resident said he saw several police officers entering the complex on Sunday night.

“It’s very, very sad,” he said.

Another resident, Fernanda, felt scared after seeing emergency crews near her home.

“I live at the corner … I saw lots of police cars and then I thought something bad had happened,” she said.

“We have a WhatsApp group for the neighbourhood and they were out posting photos and everything.

“I feel so, so nervous inside for the family, that’s so bad, it’s a bit scary because we live here.

“I never heard anything like that before in the area.”
