A woman has been charged after allegedly defacing a school, home and shopping centre with anti-Semitic graffiti during a coordinated spree across Sydney’s eastern suburbs earlier this year.
The 27-year-old was arrested at a home on Maloney St in Eastlakes shortly before 11am on Tuesday, following a months-long investigation by detectives from Strike Force Pearl.
She was taken to Mascot Police Station and charged with multiple offences including malicious damage linked to criminal activity, vehicle theft, unlicensed driving and drug possession.
She was refused bail and was due to appear in Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday.
Police allege she is responsible for a series of vandalism attacks that took place on January 30, targeting several locations including a school on Runic Lane in Maroubra, a nearby home on Hannan St, a shopping centre on Bunnerong Rd in Eastgardens and a home on Sparks St in Eastlakes.
It is alleged the incidents are linked and detectives attached to Strike Force Pearl took carriage of both investigations.
Since the commencement of the investigation, police have charged three people in connection with this incident. They remain before the Courts.
Police believe the graffiti was part of a hoax terror threat set up by organised criminal groups.
Investigations under Strike Force Pearl continue.
