Woman charged with murder after man fatally stabbed in Matraville residence

A woman has been charged with the alleged murder of her ex-boyfriend at Matraville on Tuesday night.

Nikita Kirby, 31, was charged wih murder on Wednesday evening, nearly 24 hours after she was arrested at her home on Murrabin Ave at Matraville, in Sydney’s eastern beaches, about 6.15pm.

Kirby’s ex-boyfriend Scott Wallace had been found suffering stab wounds, and despite the efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Daily Telegraph understands that Ms Kirby and Mr Wallace were formerly in a relationship.

In 2021 an AVO was taken out in the NSW Local Court against Mr Wallace by police, for Ms Kirby’s protection. That AVO lasted for two years and ended last October.

Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command and the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, as well as forensic police, remained at the scene on Wednesday.

In a statement on Tuesday night, police said Ms Kirby was “assisting police with inquiries”.
