Woman alleged caught drink driving twice in two hours on Marconi Rd, Morisset

The 44-year-old Lake Macquarie woman was allegedly found driving a car with a young girl inside on the same road where she had earlier been arrested for mid-range drink driving.

A woman has been charged and had her licence suspended after allegedly being caught drink driving twice in two hours at Morisset.

Lake Macquarie highway patrol officers stopped the 44-year-old woman in her Mazda as she was driving along Marconi Rd about 12.10pm on Wednesday.

She allegedly returned a positive reading and was taken to Morisset police station, where she allegedly recorded a reading of 0.129.

She was issued with a court attendance notice for driving with a mid-range prescribed concentration of alcohol and had her licence suspended.

Then, at 2.15pm, police allegedly saw the same Mazda being driven west along Marconi Rd.

The woman, who had a 10-year-old girl in the car at the time, was taken to Toronto police station and allegedly returned a reading of 0.121.

She was charged with a second mid-range PCA offence as well as driving while suspended before being granted conditional bail to appear at Toronto Local Court on May 16.
