A Western Sydney rapper who flashed his bling on social media has had it seized by police and could face significant jail time if convicted, after being charged with serious drug offences.
Crew Palesoo, known as “Kapulet” and who has featured in songs with OneFour, was taken into police custody after sweeping dawn raids by the Raptor Squad on Thursday.
Detectives said they had been investigating his links to a drug supply ring in Western Sydney over the past month.
Police allege that when they bashed down the doors of Plumpton and Marsden Park homes linked to Palesoo and Keanon Carroll, they found MDMA, cocaine, cannabis and $50,000 in cash, as well as luxury watches and jewellery.
On his social media accounts Palesoo, 27, can be seen brandishing the same diamond-encrusted Rolex and chains emblazoned with his rap moniker that police seized this week.
Palesoo and Carroll have been charged with commercial drug supply and dealing with proceeds of crime, and have been refused bail to reappear at court later this month.
A third man, 28, was granted bail to appear at Mount Druitt Local Court next month.
Palesoo, under his stage name Kapulet, has more than 15,000 followers on Instagram and 4000 on TikTok, where he has documented losing 100kg.
He has featured in songs with several members of high-profile rap group OneFour, also from Mount Druitt, posing in balaclavas and with Lamborghinis in music videos.
“Big sticks when we bring out the tools,” he says in one that has almost 300,000 views.
