Police continue to make arrests 12 weeks after the Wakeley church riots with one man now facing serious charges including assaulting a police officer.
Strike Force Dribs was set up a day after the wild riots on April 14, with the extensive investigation so far leading to 39 arrests, including two more on Monday.
A 22-year-old handed himself in to officers at Mount Druitt Police Station just after 6pm and was arrested.
He was charged with riot and destroyed/damage property during public disorder.
He has been refused bail to appear before Mount Druitt Local Court on Tuesday.
Less than two hours later, a 25-year-old man attended Fairfield Police Station and was arrested.
He was charged with riot, aggravated break and enter with intent-in company-not steal and assault police officer in execution of duty cause actual bodily harm.
He was refused bail to appear in Fairfield Local Court on Tuesday.
Police will allege the men had varying roles in the riot that followed Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel being stabbed during a live-streamed sermon inside the Christ the Good Shepherd Church, resulting in him losing an eye.
Following the vision of the attack going viral on social media, thousands of people rushed to the church — some to check on the Bishop.
But police allege many others who attended did so to attack the teenager responsible for the alleged terror attack, and others to simply be involved in the riot.
Inquiries under Strike Force Dribs are ongoing.
