About 7pm on Sunday emergency services received reports of a multi-vehicle crash on King St, Newtown.
Inner West Police Area Command officers and Traffic and Highway Patrol Command arrived at the scene and found the 43-year-old driver of a Mercedes SUV, and his passengers – a woman, 67, a woman, 42, and a boy and girl, both aged 12 – were taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for minor injuries.

The 28-year-old man behind the wheel of a black MG SUV was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for mandatory testing and further assessment.
Police established a crime scene and following inquiries into the incident, arrested and charged the 28-year-old man with driving in a dangerous manner.
His licence was suspended and he was given a court attendance notice to appear before Newtown Local Court on August 4.
Police also arrested a 20-year-old man, Gary Burnett, at the scene after he allegedly attempted to interfere with police investigations, and is also alleged to have assaulted a female constable and paramedics.
Burnett was taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment, with police alleging he also assaulted a male constable and security staff.
The man was released from hospital on Monday and taken to Newtown police station, where he was charged with hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, assault police officer in execution of duty without aggravated bodily harm and assault frontline emergency worker – no actual bodily harm.
