Trial date set for alleged sex offender Jayavarman Eugen Kirk Sakaluk

A man who allegedly had sex with underage girls and filmed them has fronted court where he is defending multiple charges.

A Wetherill Park man is defending allegations he had sex with two teenage girls and spread videos of them after filming them on a mobile phone.

Jayavarman Eugen Kirk Sakaluk, 28, faced arraignment at Parramatta District Court on Friday when he pleaded not guilty to three counts of having sexual intercourse with a child between 10 and 14, having sexual intercourse with a child between 14 and 16, disseminating child abuse material, participating as a client with child under 14 in prostitution, two counts of producing child abuse material and intentionally sexually touching a child.

Mr Sakaluk allegedly had sex with girls aged 13 and 14 at Wetherill Park between August and December 2020, when he was also accused of producing child abuse material of the children on a phone.

Documents tendered to the court allege he participated in an act of child prostitution at Merrylands.

This month, his co-accused, Andrea Marcel Banks, admitted to child grooming offences carried out on 13 and 14-year-old girls at Merrylands.

The Minchinbury woman pleaded guilty to two counts of procuring a child under 14 for unlawful sexual activity.

She is defending charges of causing a child under 14 to participate in child prostitution after pleading not guilty.

Banks appeared in court where she re-entered the pleas on Friday.

Papers tendered to the court state Banks intentionally procured a 13-year-old girl to have sex with Mr Sakaluk between August and October 2020.

During the same period, she groomed a 14-year-old girl to have sex with Mr Sakaluk.

Police also allege Banks induced a 13-year-old girl to participate in an act of prostitution.

Two counts of doing an act of child prostitution were dropped.

Three counts of having sexual intercourse with a child under 14 were also withdrawn.

Judge Stephen Hanley set the date for the trial, which is expected to take between two and three weeks, for August 28.
