Flamboyant property developer Jean Nassif has put on a public show of unity with wife Nissy days after police charged him with assaulting her.
The Toplace chief attended a wedding Saturday with Mrs Nassif, posting a photo of them together.
Mrs Nassif also posted on her Instagram page from the same wedding, making no reference to an apprehended violence order police are taking out against Mr Nassif on her behalf.
Mr Nassif was charged after police were called to his palatial Chiswick home on Tuesday, May 3 at about 9.30am.
“Officers attached to Burwood Police Area Command attended and were told a 34-year-old woman had been assaulted by a 54-year-old man,” a NSW Police statement said.
“Following inquiries, the man was arrested and taken to Burwood Police Station where he was charged with common assault.
“He was given conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Thursday, May 12.
“The man and woman are known to each other.”
Police are also making an AVO application for Nisserine “Nissy” Nassif to be heard on the same day.
The 2019 video, where he is gifting his wife a $480,000 yellow Lamborghini, spawned a host of spoof videos.
Mr Nassif’s company has also been in the sights of NSW Building Commissioner David Chandler.
The company’s apartment block on Charles St, Canterbury is subject to a building work rectification order issued in April “to remediate the potential serious defects”, according to published rulings.
Another property in Castle Hill is subject to enforceable undertakings after defects were found.
At the time the company said “a certificate of structural adequacy has been issued (and) any allegation to the contrary is completely false,” he said.
“The rectification works the subject of the reporting to date relate to a single slab that is entirely independent from building superstructure.”
Mr Nassif was contacted for comment.
