A police strike force investigating an alleged drug syndicate supplying ice, LSD, cannabis and steroids across parts of the Hunter have arrested three men in a series of raids spanning a fortnight.

Strike Force Starve detectives swooped on a Gillieston Heights home on Tuesday, one day after arresting a man outside a suburban pub and two weeks after a similar raid on a Thornton premises.

The connected arrests came three months after the Port Stephens-Hunter property and drug squad commenced an investigation into the alleged drug supply network.

The latest raid, on a house on Holland Circuit at Gillieston Heights, allegedly netted police more than 12 grams of methamphetamine, 900 grams of cannabis, 12 vials of steroids, prescription medication, $6000 in cash and a stun gun disguised as a torch.

A Gillieston Heights man, 27, was arrested at the scene and later charged with 34 counts of supplying an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug, ongoing drug supply and a range of other charges.

The arrest came a day after a Broadmeadow man, 34, was arrested outside the Shortland Hotel on Monday after more than 30 grams of ice was allegedly found inside his parked car.

Police will allege the man had met another man inside the hotel before his arrest by Strike Force Starve.

There is no suggestion that hotel management were aware of the alleged drug dealing.
