A third man has been charged for his alleged role in a plot to murder members of western Sydney rap group OneFour.
While investigating the movements of the Haouchar organised crime syndicate, allegedly led by Bilal Haouchar from Lebanon, in December 2022 Strike Force Tromperie detectives found a 26 year-old man was allegedly directing an offshoot of the main syndicate to take on contract work carrying out murders, kidnappings and other serious crimes on behalf of other criminal groups.
Police allege the offshoot group were planning on murdering the four members of OneFour,
Spencer “Spenny” Magalogo, Dahcell “Celly14” Ramos, Pio ‘YP’ Misa, and his brother Jerome “J Emz” Misa at the request of another criminal group, before officers foiled the plot with sweeping raids on January 11.
On Monday, strike force detectives arrived at a Wellington correctional centre and arrested a man, now 28, before charging him with seven offences including conspiring and agreeing to murder, knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime and participating in a criminal group.
He will next appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday March 27.
It comes after two other men were charged over their alleged roles in the murder plot, which police allege was so far advanced the members of OneFour were under surveillance from underworld figures and getaway cars had been placed across the city.
The rap group, who have a volatile relationship with police, only learnt of the plot when investigators rang one of their mothers the morning of the raids to let them know the attempt had been quashed.
Brandon Maseuli, 26, who allegedly and Yousef Rima, 20 were arrested and charged with offences including conspiracy to murder during the raids last month, while police issued an arrest warrant for another man, believed to be overseas.
