A police officer from Sydney’s southwest has been charged with common assault in an alleged domestic violence incident.

In October, officers from the South West Metropolitan Region Command launched an investigation after a woman accused the 38-year-old senior constable, attached to a specialist command, of pushing her against a wall in mid-September.

Following inquiries, the officer was arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station on Monday, where he was charged with domestic violence-related common assault.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday, 16 October 2024.

His employment status is currently under review.
