Three people have escaped injury after a home in Sydney’s southwest was peppered with bullets in a drive-by shooting overnight, the second to rock the city in as many days.
Police were called to Briggs Place in St Helens Park shortly before 7.15pm, following reports of shots fired into a house.
Officers arrived to find a hail of bullets in a house and car.
The three people inside the property were not injured.
Police were told a dark-coloured Audi sedan was seen leaving the location following the shooting.
This shooting is the third to rock Sydney in less than a week.
A gunman is still at large after a Merrylands home believed to be linked to the Alameddine crime network was peppered with bullets in a drive-by shooting late on Monday night.
Police said the back-to-back shootings were being investigated as separate incidents.
It is understood police are investigating whether the intended target of the Merrylands shooting was an underworld figure, who has previously been arrested over gun charges.
Police sources said at least one of the home’s residents is known to authorities.
All of the occupants inside the house were not injured.
A burnt-out car was found in the nearby suburb of Bass Hill shortly after.
And last Thursday, four people escaped injury after their home was sprayed with bullets in Constitution Hill.
Police have established crime scenes and commenced investigations into the incidents.
