A 21-year-old man has been charged after the alleged armed robbery of the BP Parkway at Quakers Hill on Wednesday night.

Riverstone police allege Timothy Southam threatened a man working at the shop with a knife before he demanded cash and cigarettes about 11pm.

Southam allegedly ran away but a police source said he left his wallet at the station and he was arrested at Wilson Rd in Acacia Gardens shortly after.

He was taken to Riverstone police station and charged with robbery whilst armed with offensive weapon.

He was refused bail to appear at Blacktown Court on Thursday where he did not apply for bail and it was formally refused.

The matter was adjourned to Penrith Local Court on August 4.

The staff member was not physically injured during the incident.

In a separate incident on the same night, two men were threatened with a gun during a robbery at a Marsden Park service station.

A police spokesman said emergency services were called to the Shell Coles Express Marsden Park North following reports of the incident before 7.30pm.

Mt Druitt police were told a group of four people threatened a 27-year-old attendant before they stole cash and cigarettes.

The thieves threatened a 33-year-old customer before they stole his wallet at the Richmond Rd station.

They fled on two motorbikes.

No one was physically injured. Police said the robbery was not linked to the alleged robbery at Quakers Hill.

“A crime scene was established, and investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the incident,’’ a police spokesman said.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
