Seven kids hospitalised after two buses crash

Seven children and an adult have been taken to hospital after two buses crashed in the Blue Mountains on Friday afternoon.

Seven children and an adult have been taken to hospital after two buses crashed in the Blue Mountains on Friday afternoon.

Police and NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived on the scene at the Great Western Hwy near Railway Pde about 4.15pm where 25 passengers between the two buses had to be treated.

Two children were taken to Westmead Hospital and five were taken to Nepean Hospital for minor injuries.

A male driver of one of the buses was also taken to Nepean Hospital for treatment to a shoulder injury.

The highway was closed in both directions with police setting up diversions into late Friday afternoon.

Officers from the Blue Mountains Police Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
