Police seize steroids, guns, drugs and cash in series of raids targeting organised crime in Sydney’s west

Major organised crime networks are being targeted as detectives attempt to suppress the ongoing arson attacks, home invasions and shootings plaguing Sydney’s suburbs.
Police made six arrests, executed 20 Firearms Prohibition Order searches, seized drugs, cash, firearms and even steroids during the two-day blitz across several suburbs including Fairfield, Cabramatta, Burwood, Chipping Norton, Greenacre and Merrylands.
On Tuesday, police searched a home in Fairfield West where they allegedly located testosterone, growth hormone, cannabis and cash which was seized for forensic examination.
Less than an hour later, officers served an FPO at a home on Bligh Street in Fairfield East. They allegedly found prohibited drugs, cash and phones.
A 36-year-old man was taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with two counts of taking part in supplying prohibited drugs, two counts of possessing prohibited drugs, dealing with property proceeds of crime and failing to comply with digital evidence access order direction.
He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday, where he was formally refused bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court on July 18.
A short time later, officers executed an FPO search at a home on Chelsea St in Merrylands, where police allegedly seized an airsoft pistol and $31,700 cash.
A 31-year-old man was taken to Granville Police Station and charged with possessing an unauthorised pistol, acquiring a pistol subject to a firearms prohibition order, and acquiring ammunition subject to a prohibition order.
He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday and will appear at the same court again on July 10.
On Wednesday, officers searched a home on Earl St in Canley Heights where police seized a substance believed to be steroids and a sum of cash.
Police were simultaneously searching a property on Sackville St in Canley Vale, finding substances suspected to be methylamphetamine and GHB, which will be forensically examined.
Later that day an FPO search was executed at a home on McBurney Road in Cabramatta, where police found a substance suspected to be prohibited drugs and applied for a search warrant.
Police seized the substance and an amount of cannabis which will be forensically examined.
A 29-year-old man and 25-year-old woman were taken to Fairfield Police Station, where they were both charged with five offences regarding the supplying and possessing of prohibited drugs and refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday.
They are due to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Tuesday.
Officers also charged a man with affray in Mt Pritchard and another in relation to domestic violence offences in Parramatta.
Further charges are expected to be laid as inquiries continue under Operation Fort.
