A 58-year-old man has been granted bail after allegedly pulling out a gun during a road-rage incident in Sydney’s west on Sunday afternoon.

On Monday, Cecil Hills man Daniel Vazquez appeared at Fairfield Local Court via audio visual link where he applied for bail.

Vazquez was charged with possessing an unauthorised firearm and being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence and is yet to enter pleas.

Police allege at about 1pm on Sunday, Vazquez was seen holding a gun, alleged to be a replica pistol, out the window of a moving car while travelling on Cowpasture Rd in Abbotsbury.

Following an investigation, officers from the Fairfield City Police Area Command executed a search warrant at a Lancaster Ave residence in Cecil Hills at about 9.30pm.

With the assistance of the Tactical Operations Unit, police seized a replica pistol at the home.

Vazquez was arrested at the scene and taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was remanded in custody.

Police will also allege that Vazquez was armed with intent to intimidate, causing the complainants to fear for their physical and mental wellbeing.

On Monday, Vazquez was granted conditional bail and must report to Wetherill Park Police Station three times a week.

He must not go near or contact the two complainants in the matter or any other prosecution witness. A surety of $5000 was also agreed to.

His matter is expected to return to Fairfield Local Court on June 4 for mention.
