Police release CCTV after woman critically injured in suspected Ashcroft hit-and-run

A woman is in a critical condition after being struck by a car in Sydney’s southwest. Police have released CCTV of a car seen in the area and are appealing for information.

A woman is in a critical condition after being struck by a car in Sydney’s southwest on Sunday evening.

Emergency services were called to Maxwells Ave in Ashcroft shortly before 7.30pm following reports of a pedestrian hit by a car.

Officers arrived to find a woman, believed to be in her 20s, with serious injuries.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to Liverpool Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.

As investigations continue, police released CCTV footage showing a gold-coloured sedan travelling east on Maxwells Ave around the time of the incident.

Police would like to speak to the driver, who may be able to assist with inquiries.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident has commenced.
