Police launch investigation after man with gunshot wound found during traffic stop in Kingswood

A man was found with an alleged gunshot wound to his arm after police stopped a ute in Sydney’s west, prompting an investigation into the shooting.

A police traffic stop in Sydney’s west has uncovered a man with an alleged gunshot wound, sparking an investigation into the incident.

Officers were patrolling Parker St in Kingswood shortly before 11pm on Sunday when they stopped a ute for dangerous driving.

Upon approaching the vehicle, police found a 39-year-old male passenger with a gunshot wound to his arm.

Police were told the man had been riding a bike in Cranebrook when he was allegedly shot before being picked up by the 43-year-old female driver of the ute, who was not injured.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene before transporting him to hospital in a stable condition.

Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command established a crime scene on Redditch Way, Cranebrook, and an investigation into the incident has commenced.
