Police hunt four men who invaded Prairiewood family home armed with guns

Police are hunting a gang who stormed a home in Sydney’s west and threatened a young family with guns before stealing a number of items.

Police are hunting a gang who stormed a home in Sydney’s west and put a gun to a woman’s head, demanding cash and jewellery.

Officers were called to a home on Westwood Street in Prairiewood shortly before 2am following reports of a home invasion.

The balaclava-clad quartet their way into the home and approached its residents, a woman in her 50s and two young girls aged 8 and 10.

A relative of the woman said the man kicked the front door and held a gun to the woman’s head, demanding she hand over all her jewellery and cash.

The terrified woman obliged, and the group took off with several items.

None of the victims were injured but are understood to be very shaken, with the gunmen still on the run.

A crime scene has been established as inquiries into the incident continue.

It’s understood the woman and her children were home alone, with her husband and older son currently overseas on holiday.

Neighbours on Westwood Street said the family are “very nice” and had never experienced an incident like this.
