Police are looking for two men after a wild duck was decapitated in a cruel incident in the state’s Southern Highlands over the weekend.
Officers attached to The Hume Police District were on Saturday called to the registered club car park on the Old Hume Highway in Mittagong, following reports of animal cruelty.
Detectives were told two men had been seen chasing a flock of wild ducks in the car park, before one of the ducks was caught and decapitated by one of the men.
The men were seen leaving the scene a short time later and police were notified of the incident.
As investigations into the incident continue, police have released images of two men who may be able to assist with inquiries.
One man is described as being of caucasian appearance, of medium build, and is seen wearing a fluorescent yellow and blue singlet, blue football shorts, a blue cap, thongs and sunglasses.
The second male is described as being of caucasian appearance with a slim build, and is seen wearing a grey T-shirt, blue shorts, thongs and a blue cap.
