The thugs allegedly threatened the employees and stole an amount of cash before fleeing on foot in an easterly direction.
During the incident, a 38-year-old security guard suffered minor injuries.
Officers established a crime scene that was examined by specialist police.
Investigations have led police to believe that shortly before the incident a vehicle was seen travelling the wrong way down Tincombe Street before stopping in Minter Street.
As investigations continue, detectives are urging anyone who may have information about the matter – or were in the area at the time with any available dashcam/mobile phone footage – to contact Burwood Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
