Four people have been charged following the alleged abduction of a four-year-old girl from Sydney’s north west on Friday.
About 12.30pm on Friday, police were called to a property on Midlands Terrace, Stanhope Gardens, following reports of an abduction.
Police were told the girl was with her father when a man and woman in a SUV stopped nearby before the woman allegedly took the girl into the vehicle and drove off.
Footage released by police shows the dramatic police chase that followed as the car raced down the M1 highway and Highway Patrol and PolAir helicopter tracked the vehicle.
The car is seen racing down the highway before being stopped by police at Kinta Drive, Beresfield, about 2.20pm where two women and two men were arrested.
The girl was found in the vehicle and was distressed but uninjured, police said.
She was on Friday reunited with her father.
The four people have been taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station on Friday.
On Saturday, police confirmed two women, aged 75 and 53, and two men, aged 52 and 60, were charged with take/detain child with intent to remove from parental control.
