NSW Police investigate after man shot in Leppington, car burnt out

A man has been shot three times in the leg and a car found burnt out nearby following an alleged targeted shooting in Sydney’s southwest overnight.
Just after 9pm on Wednesday shots were fired on Carnelian St, Leppington, and a man was found with three gunshot wounds to his leg by police.
The 28-year-old was treated at the scene by paramedics before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.
His injuries are not life-threatening.
Local police and Strike Force Raptor Squad officers from State Crime Command began investigating the scene, including a widespread search of the area.
A short time later a burnt out vehicle was reported on Nettletree St, Casula.
Investigators are looking into whether the vehicle, believed to be a BMW, is linked to the shooting.
Police believe the incident was targeted, and are exploring whether the attackers have connections to outlaw motorcycle gangs.
Crime scenes have been established on Carnelian St and Nettletree St, which will be examined by forensic specialists.
Investigators are urging anyone with information on the incident to come forward.
