The man was driving a white Volkswagen sedan with black detailing and one broken headlight while heading eastbound on Parramatta Rd at Lidcombe just before 2pm on January 13.

Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command were contacted a short time after reports from shocked drivers.

Police released a photograph of the type of car they believe is similar to the one that was involved.

Police are appealing with the public for any information that will help identify the man who is described as being of caucasian appearance with short hair and glasses.

It comes after another separate incident in which a naked man allegedly walked into an eastern suburbs petrol station wearing only sunglasses and thongs.

Police later served the 48-year-old with a court attendance notice for wilful and obscene exposure in a public place.
