Masked man threatens Cameron Park shop staff with hunting knife during armed robbery

A man who attempted to hide his face with sunglasses and a surgical mask has threatened staff with a hunting knife during a violent armed robbery at Cameron Park.

Staff at the fast food store on Stenhouse Drive were threatened by the bandit, who had stormed the shop about 7.35pm before escaping with cash.

A crime scene was established by officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District.

As investigations continue, police would like to speak to a man seen walking from the scene towards the Cameron Park industrial area.

He was described as being of caucasian appearance, about 40-years-old and was wearing a hooded jumper, a surgical mask and sunglasses.

Anyone with information about the incident, or dashcam footage from the area, is urged to contact police.
