A man has been rushed to hospital after a stabbing at a western Sydney pub, just metres from where a pizza shop owner was allegedly murdered last month.
Police are now hunting the assailant following the incident at the Kingswood Hotel, which was taped off and declared a crime scene after the stabbing occurred about 7.45pm on Tuesday.
A NSW Police spokeswoman told The Daily Telegraph the victim, aged in his 20s, had been treated for stab wounds at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
She said police were “looking for someone” in relation to the incident.
Footage from the scene showed what appeared to be blood-stained items, including a white jumper, inside the hotel.
The hotel is on the Great Western Highway, just a few doors down from The Pizza Stop, where owner Sonmez Alagoz was knifed in the chest in an unrelated incident on February 4.
A 15-year-old boy accused of murdering the 58-year-old, who died in hospital, remains before the courts.
Anyone with information about Tuesday night’s incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
