Man killed in ute crash along Silver City Highway north of Broken Hill

A man has died after his ute went off the road and rolled over in the state’s far west region.

A man has died after a single-vehicle crash on a remote highway in the state’s far west on Wednesday.

At 8.40pm, emergency services were alerted to a crash along the Silver City Highway, Packsaddle, about 170km north of Broken Hill.

Officers from the Barrier Police District arrived and discovered a ute had rolled off the road.

The ute’s male driver and sole occupant was treated by paramedics but died at the scene and has yet to be formally identified.

Police soon established a crime scene and have launched an investigation into the incident and the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
