A 70-year-old pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle in Sydney’s inner west last week.
The incident, which occurred last Wednesday afternoon on City Road in Camperdown, saw an elderly man hit by a car.
A bystander administered first aid until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and treated the man for severe head injuries.
He was subsequently transported to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver involved in the incident, a 31-year-old woman, was also taken to the same hospital for mandatory testing.
In response to the accident, a crime scene was established, and officers from the Inner West launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Police were informed on Wednesday, a week after the incident, that the man succumbed to his injuries and passed away in hospital.
A report is being prepared for the Coroner to provide further information on the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to uncover more details about the tragic event.
