A man has been charged with murder after he allegedly stabbed a man on a footpath in south Sydney earlier this week.

A man has been charged with murder after he allegedly stabbed a man on a footpath in south Sydney earlier this week.
Police have charged a 47-year-old man from Maroubra following a fatal stabbing in Eastlakes on January 27.
About 12.20pm on Monday a man was found with a wound to his neck on a footpath on Maloney St.
NSW Ambulance paramedics assisted the man however he died at the scene.
Officers attached to South Sydney Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, under Strike Force Brede.
The man has since been identified as a 47-year-old from Maroubra.
Following inquiries, officers arrested a 33-year-old man about 11.30am on Friday at Surry Hills Police Station and charged him with one count of murder and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Saturday.
