A man has admitted to throwing a glass that inadvertently hit one of Australia’s top YouTube stars in the head after a blue broke out in a Sydney bowling alley.
According to a police fact sheet tendered to court, Miroslav Naskovic, 34, of Botany, was with his partner at Barangaroo’s Strike Bowling when he became involved in the verbal dispute with a separate group of friends just after midnight on March 6, 2021.
Security began to escort Naskovic away when he threw the glass that hit the ceiling and deflected onto the head of Lannan Eacott.
Eacott, 27, who is better known by his online alias LazarBeam, is a professional gamer who is known for playing the game Fortnite and who has a staggering 19.9 million YouTube subscribers.
The glass, which shattered, left a 6cm laceration to his head.
Naskovic pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm over the incident against Eacott in the NSW Local Court recently and magistrate Julia Virgo sentenced him to a five-month conditional release order.
Police said in the fact sheet Naskovic had first become involved in the bowling alley verbal altercation with Harley Fresh, who is also a professional gamer and who has almost 8 million online subscribers.
Fresh was not accused of any wrongdoing.
Security had become alerted when friends of Fresh pulled Naskovic away before Naskovic later launched the glass in an over arm throw towards the group of friends while being escorted away, police said.
Officers arrived outside the venue and Naskovic told them that, after being pushed by the group, he had thrown his “f**king glass at the ground”.
Police noticed him to be “moderately affected” by alcohol.
Police said in the fact sheet that Naskovic’s behaviour was alcohol-related and that he could have caused significant injuries.
